Right now I'm on a night bus from Sao Paulo to Iguassu Falls. I spent the last two days at a colonial town called Paraty, on the Brazilian coast south of Rio.
Paraty is quaint and colorful, filled with art galleries, cafes, old churches and little shops. The historic center of town is pedestrian-only, and on nearly every corner is a vendor selling cakes, flan and delicious (but very sticky) coconut desserts. I spent plenty of time wandering the cobblestone streets and waterfront, camera and cake in hand. Photos coming soon...
